v1.0.0·iOS, Android, Web
The first public build
The first version anyone outside the team could use: an interactive floor plan with tappable equipment, video demos and QR-code induction routes — no login needed.
Added
- An interactive 2D floor plan of the gym, with every piece of equipment tappable.
- Video demonstrations embedded on each piece of equipment, so you could see a machine used before touching it.
- Guided induction routes, opened by scanning a QR code on the gym floor.
- A personal notes space for keeping your own notes as you trained.
- No login required — open the app and use it.
- A desktop admin platform for the Map Your Gym team: upload floor plans, place equipment hotspots, manage the video library and generate QR codes.
- Support for multi-location gym brands from a single dashboard.
This is where it started. The brief was narrow on purpose: prove that someone who had never used a gym could walk in, open a floor plan, and find out what a machine was and how to use it — without an account, an induction, or having to ask anybody.
It worked, and almost everything about it has since been rebuilt. Version 2.0.0 replaced the whole app, and accounts arrived with it, which is what made saved workouts, progress and per-gym content possible.
