# How to track your progress

> Weigh-ins, tape measurements, progress photos and workout history in MapYourGym - where each one lives, and who can see it.

Training history tells you what you did. This is the other half: what changed. It all lives under the Me tab, and none of it is visible to anyone else unless you explicitly say so.

## The Me tab

Me is a menu rather than a screen of its own. Your account, your notifications, your settings, your fitness progress, a way to send us feedback, and your badges and points. Sign out and account deletion sit at the bottom, out of the way of everything you actually use.

## Your week, at a glance

Before you go looking, the home screen already carries the summary: workouts done, minutes trained, personal bests, exercises, total weight lifted and points earned, all for the current week. The week runs Monday to Sunday, and only completed sessions count.

## Weigh-ins and measurements

Me, then Fitness progress. Type today's weight and tap Save. Weigh yourself again the same day and it replaces the first number rather than adding a second, so you never end up with two weights for one day.

Underneath are ten places to measure - neck, chest, waist, hips, and both arms, thighs and calves. Tap one, type the number in centimetres, save. The advice on screen is the advice that matters: measure at the same time of day and in the same place each time. Consistency beats precision, because you are looking at the change rather than the absolute number.

## Progress photos

The most useful record you can keep, and the one people abandon fastest. Take one, either with the camera or from your library, and tag it front, side or back. Then take the next one in the same spot and the same light, because a comparison only tells you something if everything except you has stayed the same.

That is what the compare view is for: pick any two photos and see them side by side. Change over twelve weeks is invisible day to day and obvious when week one sits next to week twelve.

On privacy, the app is deliberate. Progress photos are private. They never appear anywhere in your gym's app, nobody can open one by guessing at a web address, and deleting one deletes the photo for good rather than just hiding it from you. If you want a coach to see them, Sharing lets you pick a specific member of your gym's team, and you can withdraw that at any time.

_Not shared with anyone, until you choose someone to share with._

## Workout history

Every session you have logged, newest first, with its date and how long it took. Tap one for the detail: what you did and what you lifted, set by set. This is where you check whether you actually added weight last month or just remember it that way.

## What your gym can and cannot see

Worth stating plainly, because it is the question people ask most. Your gym sees which of its machines and workouts get used, counted up across all its members. It does not see your individual training records, your weight, your measurements or your photos.

The one thing that is visible to other members is the leaderboard - your display name and totals, to people at your gym. Settings has a switch to turn that off, and your name is removed as soon as you do. The same screen holds your colour theme and whether you want marketing emails.
